Douglas B. Heim, O.D., received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John Fisher College in 1978 and a Doctor of Optomtetry degree from Indiana School of Optometry in 1981. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina State Optometric Soceity. He has practiced in Hendersonville for 29 years.

Timothy P. Anderson, O.D., received a Bachelor of Sciences degree from North Carolina State University in 1987 and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1991. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina State Optometric Society. He is the current President of the Valley Springs Lions Club which serves the blind and visually handicapped in our area. He joined Dr. Heim in private practice at Professional Vision Center in Hendersonville in 2003.

Sandy is our office manager. She has worked with the practice for 29 years and is very knowledgable about contact lenses, spectacle frame and lens options, ocular conditions and vision/medical insurance plans. If you have an involved/complicated insurance or contact lens-related question, Sandy will be able to provide you with the answer.

Pam primarily works in our optical department. She is extremely knowlegable about frame and lens technology and has the talent to make everyone "look great" in their new glasses. Pam is professional, yet also understands that making a selection of eyeware can be a "fun" experience. She has worked in the practice for 21 years.

Joy primarily assists Dr. Heim and Dr. Anderson during the initial portion of our eye examinations. She has the unique ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease amazingly quickly. As the saying goes, "she has never met a stranger." Joy has worked in the practice for 16 years.

Lisa primarily works in our optical department, but also helps contact lens patients and assists Sandy with insurance filing/claims. Lisa is very kind, understanding and professional. She has worn glasses and contact lenses since she was quite young and understands the challenges that patients can face when vision correction is needed. Lisa joined the practice over 6 years ago.

Amy is our newest addition to the practice. She assists the doctors with the eye exam as well as working in our optical. A native of Hendersonville, you will find Amy cheerful, positive and always willing to help.

Carola works in our reception area and assists patients in scheduling appointments and will happily answer any questions you may have. Before coming to our practice 5 years ago, she worked for a local ophthalmology practice which has given her a wonderful background in understanding the needs of patients who require eye surgery.

Windy joined our practice 3 years ago and works in our reception area, optical and assisting the doctors with exam testing. She has a gift for making our patients feel welcome and well-cared for. She comes to us from Pardee Hospital where she worked as a surgical technician in the operating room. She is a native of Hendersonville.
